Piran
I just heard from the Garage and They've failed my Supras MOT on the Lambda figures of 1.6 (I guess he meant 1.06) ! anyone got any ideas what might cause this ? or what I can do to fix it ? Doughie
that's an exhaust emissions failure. will be because the Carbon Monoxide levels are above permitted levels, or because Hydrocarbons are above the max. ppm (parts per million) levels. i guess it's because you've got no CATs on the car ? yes ? if so ...... put one back on (the front one), and re-submit for the MOT (best to get the CAT as hot as possible just before giving the car in). cheers
Piran
apparently CO and HC readings were fine it was just the Lambda that was out !
Mark Kindell
If the Lambda readings where that high i would have thought the ex was leaking and drawing in air or the mixture is running very weak on idle poss the Lambda sensor playing up ! N/A or TT ??
Piran
Just confirmed the numbers and he did mean 1.06 all other tests passed without a problem 94 import TT running Optimax and apparently a TRD exhasut
Mark Kindell
Sure it was Lambda that was out and not the co !!!

wilfman
Apparently, on Pre-95 imports, the emission test is not required, so it may not be necessary. Or is this bo***cks?
