ATB
Hello I am in the process of replacing all the vacuum lines on my car (2JZ-GTE) and changed the hoses on the EGR components on the intake manifold. I discovered when replacing the hoses a tiny white nozzle on the smallest steel pipe that runs behind the engine. it is connected to the hose on the picture. Is it supposed to be there? or have someone placed it there to affect something? I of course forgot to take a picture of it, but I can do it if that would help. Chris Wilson
A photo would help. If law does not dictate you keep the EGR it's far better to remove it all and cap off holes with steel or alloy plates.
ATB
Unfortunately I have to keep EGR to pass emission on our mot, If not I would have binned it. Here is a picture of the bugger, I can't find any logical reason why someone would place that there, it must be original.
Chris Wilson
Yes, it's a restrictor, possibly to tame EGR pulsation. OE, leave in place. Happy New Year!
