Guest pharmed
I've heard they fit! Has anyone done this? I'm trying to find seats that will fit my soarer and these cropper up as fitting the mkiv. However I can only find one person who's done it. Thanks A
j_jza80
They don't fit. They need custom rails/mounts.
Jos
They do fit nice in a mkiv, with some modification. They have a little less support than mkiv seats, but are also lighter. I removed the original brackets of the celica seats and welded mkiv seat brackets under the rails for an easy fitment. Shane
As above, they can be made to fit using a set of john's custom seat mounts that there is a thread about in the for sale section. Not a straight fit though. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?257516-Celica-leather-seat-into-the-Supra&highlight=celica+seats Edited December 31, 2014 by Shane (see edit history)

I actually read elsewhere they have more support! How hard was welding the seat rails and swapping them? Ive got a welder friend who can do this. I'm also considering mkiii supra seats as they are lovely! (possibly heavy though)
j_jza80
Why not use mkiv seats?? - - - Updated - - - Why not use mkiv seats??
Guest pharmed
I want full manual seats
Shane
If you have a decent welder and an angle grinder its not that difficult. But its even easier still if you use a set of johndmkiv's custom rails. You also then have your old intact seats to sell on. John's last post suggests he still has some. Guest pharmed
I like the sound of those custom rails
listy
I want full manual seats See if you can get hold of a EU Spec passenger seat. Being LHD, it's the right hand seat that is manual. I'm sure someone would be willing to swap a manual seat for an electric one.
Guest pharmed
Ooh I like the sound of that. Also the mkiii seats are grey cloth like the rest of my car. Will deffo keep that in mind.
j_jza80
Late, facelift mkiv cloth seats are manual on both sides, and are pretty light. Usually change hands for £50-£100. Be very specific about being manual when buying though, as some people try anchorage this for the.normal facelift electric seats, which are almost worthless. - - - Updated - - - Late, facelift mkiv cloth seats are manual on both sides, and are pretty light. Guest pharmed
Ah that sounds nice! What patterns does the cloth come in?
Guest pharmed
And when you say late what years do you mean???
j_jza80
I think they're 1998 on or so, and have a matching cloth rear. The pattern is pretty naff, IIRC JamieP had a set in 'the black beast' for a while, that he had trimmed in leather.
