JDukesy
Wanted to find out how many people run fixed back buckets on side mounts (I don't use or need the rear seats and may well just be taking them out so getting people in the back is not a concern). Also, does everyone run them with harnesses and if so how do people mount them? I have had a look at harness bars from Funky power which look like a good bet but just wanted to see what else is out there if anything. I also did a little search on this which brought up a thread from 2012 which said that MOT regs were changing and fixed position seats would now be a fail, is this the case or has it changed / is it not really enforced? All opinions and advice welcome!
Rich.2211
I've ran fixed back bucket seats and harnesses before and the seats were great, the harnesses however were a royal PITA on a daily.

Cheers Rich. Car is not a daily so not to worried about that. How did you secure the harnesses?
Tommyd16
Fixed seats must Legal. The audi tt Qs has them standard

From what I remember I used the stock seat belt anchor points as I had the rear seats removed. However, looking back I doubt it was a great idea. Ok, I have seen a few people do that but yeah wasn't sure on how safe it was. Perhaps the harness bar is the best option.

sideexitsupra
I originally used the rear seatbelt mounting points but swapped to the cage once it was in. Was never really happy using the seatbelt mounts as they were too low really. I would recommend a rear cage at least if you are using harnesses. Also remember to keep the stock belts in unless your harness releases on a push button, for MOT time. The twist to release harnesses need a friendly MOT centre to pass. Do not want to do anything to compromise safety so may just have to wait until I have a cage to mount harnesses on.
