jawan
hi, recently replaced my turbos on Jspec TT auto before it was smoking when Decelerating. Now replaced turbos, no smoke but getting lots of oil in air filter pipe. the only other difference between now and before is that the valve in downpipe area was permanently open before I changed the turbos, now it is in standard form. Please see picture of the valve I am referring too. not sure what is causing this. any ideas thanks Edited December 21, 2014 by jawan (see edit history)
Benjy
Define "lots". Pics would be helpful bud.
jawan
noticed my pcv valve is noisy and rattling a lot, is that normal?
Swampy442
You wont hear your PCV valve? Oil in the intake is fairly normal due to the breather lay out.
BOB B
how much oil is there in the pipes? are the new turbos just a second hand set, or refurbed, or new? a very slight film isn't a problem but if there is lots, especially after fitting new or refurbed, then you have a problem. I don't know how your car was running ok if the E G C V was stuck one way or the other, it should open and close as you go from 1st to 2nd turbo and back again. Chris Wilson
Some oil in the intercooler and intercooler link pipes is normal. A flood of oil is not normal. If the turbos boost OK, don't cause start up, running or deceleration smoke, and the engine isn't using an undue amount of oil "somewhere", then I would start on the Christmas booze and forget about it
