oil pressure off the gauge blew seal

If you have any extra plumbing for the oil system, like an oil cooler or oil cooler thermostat

plate it's probably plumbed wrong, or the oil

pressure relief valve in the pump is stuck shut. The valve is accessible externally with the cam belt off.

I would suspect dirt has made it stick. DO NOT over tighten the cap nut holding the relief valve and spring in,

you WILL crack the pump housing. Ring me for how to get a stuck valve out, no time to type it all up.

DO NOT try and start it again.

Hmmm, sandwich plate eh? Before doing anything else take it off and put it back to stock and (very quicly and carefully) try it again. The two problems with defi gauges are:

A: Thay are junk, IMHO

B: They furtle about resetting the needle at just the moment you want an immediate pressure reading, (during and after cranking).

I always use a basic mechanical gauge for oil and fuel pressure if the budget doesn't allow for high end electronic gauges and senders.

Or the set up has a digital dash with a good sender. Even in a high end set up, when doing it for myself, I use a mechanical oil pressure and fuel pressure gauge.
