JackyBoi
I was hoping someone could shed some light for me on how exactly to go about fitting an OEM rear bumper. My first question is do I need to buy some spats separately to prevent a big gap on either side? And my second question is do I need to buy an under-tray separate from the bumper, or can I just fit it straight on with spats and it will be fine? Only ask as this will be the first time taking my cracked one off and swapping it thanks guys
Nic
You don't need rear spats they were an optional extra which bond to the outside of the rear wings and bumper. There is no 'big gap' your current bumper is covering the bottom of the rear wings, if you remove your bumper and offer up a stock bumper you will see exactly how it fits. Have a look at some photos of a stock bodied Supra and you will see the vertical shut line between the bumper and rear wing.

Littler
Heres a view of mine to see the stock bumper edge/line:

If you look at my pic you can see the bumper that's on there now, and you can see the red deflector is where the spats would go. Now if I take that bumper off and put a stock one on, surely I'm going to be left with gaps precisely where the spats would otherwise go? Nic
No the sides of your bumper are bonded onto the outside of the rear wings, if you remove your bumper it should look like Littlers photo above. Okay, I'm with you now one more thing, is there an undertray of any sorts that I need for the stock rear bumper, or can i just take the old Trial one off, put the new OEM one on and it will be fine? evinX
Make sure the oem bumper has the 6 plastic fittings for along the top, at the bottom there is a bar with 5 plastic grommets to hold it to the chassis, and on each side of the bumper there are 2 retainers with 3 or 4 nuts bolts that bolt from the inside. Also you may want the foam energy absorber and crash bar so the bumper dosent flex to much

Don't suppose Toyota still sell the plastic grommets, clips and retainers?
