ballsdeep
iv noticed my gear on the exhaust camshaft isn't spinning true, like its off centre Slightly. Should I be worried? No head work has been done while Iv owned the car and maybe worth mentioning I have been putting up with a single knock sound when I raise the rpm only happens around 1000-1500rpm Any checks I can do or advice would be great Im far from an expert but installed my na-t myself so I'm confident enough to have a tinker. Digsy
Sure its not just the washer on the bolt making it look like that?
ballsdeep
I think you could be right! That's what my eyes are drawn too, I didn't inspect it close enough to notice it could be the washer. Thanks
Chris Wilson
The thick load spreader washers are not very good fits on the bolts, they often end up being not concentric with the pulley or the cam centreline, so visibly run out. It's insignificant for balance, just aesthetically annoying like a muddy mark on a slowly rotating tyre.
