Guest pharmed
Hi all I bought an lsd for my soarer from a Toyota supra mk4 tt auto j spec Jacking my current car up and spinning a wheel spins the opposite wheel in other direction - which is as expected with my current A02a However the new diff also does this when I spin the plates on the diff (plates spin in opposite directions) Have I been sold an open diff? Thanks all
Chris88
Yes you sure have. But to cut your loses I'll give you £30 for it. Not necessarily as contrary to "urban legend" both the open and limited slip differentials have the same basic gear set inside and will behave exactly the same way in the test you have carried out. bignum
You need to take the back off to look at the gears to know for sure.
Benjy
They're torque sensing diffs. I did a before and after burnout in mine to see how many black lines were left...

Chris Wilson
Whizz the cover off and post a decent high resolution photo. Not something blurred and dark from a camera phone, that looks like a furtive snap taken in the cellar of some opium den, like many seem to post
Guest pharmed
I'll do this and get the 30 megapixel DSLR out ;-) Nothing worse than potato photos!
Dazzi
Do a burnout. If you get ==== LSD. If you get --- open diff.
