UK Glass head lights, adjusting them.

Recommended Posts

I bought a pair of UK spec glass head lights from a German member and they have been adjusted for LHD driving...

On the rear of them there are 2 bolts that you can adjust, the top and the bottom. Does anyone know what each one does? I tried them both but cant seem to work out what its moving.

Also comparing them with my jpsec, there is a small fusebox type thing on the back of them, what is that?

So Part Numbers are as Follows:

Supra JZA80 Euro Spec

RHD:

LH Lamp - 81170-1B210

RH Lamp - 81130-1B210

LHD:

LH Lamp - 81170-1B190

LH Lamp (FR German Spec) - 81170-1B220

RH Lamp - 81130-1B190

RH Lamp (FR German Spec) - 81130-1B220

So LHD is a completely different light and the german spec is completely different again altogether (prob due to tighter restrictions on car specifications e.g the spoiler had to be lower on the german export Euro model). So as you can see, no amount of adjusting will make a LHD lamp a RHD lamp and certainly will not make a German Spec lamp, be either Std LHD and definitely not UK Spec RHD

Hi mate I looked for this number but all I saw was the bulb types

I only checked the passenger side and NOT the driver side.

I have taken them to the bodyshop but might pay a visit to check them over. if im honest it looks like the seal has been broken or its been hacked up not what I would expect from an "as new" ad... ill post some pics shortly

you should know, you refurb them :p

mr np89, ill PM the seller again just to confirm, the add posted above does say UK Spec.

In fairness, he may not have realised. TBH I didnt know until I looked that up for you that they were different in that respect cos everyone on here refers to glass headlights as "UK Spec". Part number stamped on it is your best bet to be sure. Seller might just have to eat his hat as it were.

These are the two pics I have of them but I cant clearly see the part on them so looks like im calling the bodyshop tomorrow but I might just visit tomorrow instead.

Bodyshop has just called me and said there is no reference to those number on either the glass or rear side. The said that the lights have defo been separated and put back together (which is what i suspected anyway).

Last thing I needed, all this just to save £70 as I was going to buy new ones from Mr T :(

Im going to collect them tomorrow, take some high res photos and PM the seller..!

Mr T down the road want 337.58 for a brand new set, Paul is asking for more than that! I paid £260 for the above but just PMed the seller anyway. They have been 100% split though which is what im mostly not happy about as I wanted a brand/as new set for my car when it comes from the bodyshop.

Seller is keen to get it sorted :)

I just need to find out the beam pattern for him

Would it be possible to shine a powerful torch through the dipped beam to see the pattern? My car is at the bodyshop and the bay is in bits as its getting resprayed and im on a course all week so wont be able to see my car which is 15 miles away. Guess ill have to try
