he had 18" antera 183`s before with gold spokes

 

been on braid site today they do 17 18 19 20 21 and 22" alloys

 

19`s look good but would stick with 17`s for drag racing

 

wonder what sort of price 20" rubber is. when i went to donny show last year there was a corvette old shape with 22" wheels they looked fooking big. there us a fine line between a show car and a track/street car

think glens gone for the show car look.

must be hard to get big rubber, i had loads of trouble finding someone to take my 19" tyres off so i could get the wheels refurbished. most places you go cant take them off. had to go to bradford.

The 309's are actually LISTED for the Supra (although I was

looking at 17's/18's, don't know if ALL sizes 'fit').

 

Quite like those Black-car 20's - styleiwise that is..

 

My poor old back just won't take 19's/20's...

 

I noticed the difference going from the Jap 16's to the UK 17's

quite a bit stiffer/joltier ! !

[AND, I've got the Jap' fornt shocks = oooof ! !]

 

I'd LIKE 18's for looks, but don't really want it ANY stiffer ?!

Yeah, my patience ran out waiting for others to take the bait you trickster you!;) I'm not sure if the time wasn't more to do with the burnout I subjected my kumhos to in the afternoon. The 16's were fine for the drag strip and in general use, but I wanted to do more trackdays this year and for that I would rather have the bigger brakes and wider tyre contact patch without the compromise of having to roll arches and so forth. Trackdays is the main reason I took the bait and mentioned 18's as the good compromise. But for now I'll be content to get my stock 17's resprayed charcoal gray/black and wrap them in 275's at the rear.:moo:

doesn't the required offset completely depend on the style of wheel ?
Offset and caliper clearance are two separate issues. In fact caliper clearance is nothing to do with offset. The issue is the shape of the wheel centre; once that clears the calipers, the issue is the offset that is correct for the suspension geometry.

 

Personally, that gold Supra looks naff, particularly such big wheels with small discs behind them. This reminds me of Corsas with 15" rims and tiny standard brakes.

 

I'm not going to comment on the high-riding black Lexus.

Glens Supra looks much better than it used too though, lose the wing and you've got a nice car.

 

First time I've heard anyone say UK discs are small!

true.

 

the big brake options of skylines, supras, rx7, 330zx and celica r quite difficult to find wheels to accomodate the brakes and match the suspension. most european wheel manufacturers dont have a clue about these calipers (or any caliper clearance), but the big jap wheel manufacturers r quite the opposite, wheel sizing is often listed with fitment guides for these problem calipers.

Paul, I have just looked at the spec of your car! Thats fcuking amazing! :eek: :thumbs:

 

Out of interest I see you have opted for a big single turbo. Do you know what the power limitations are of the standard twin turbos? Also I read somewhere that the standard turbos can be uprated to hold more boost and ran in tandem or sequentially to alter delivery etc. I think it might have been Dragon, but they may have gone bust.

 

Any help would be appriciated. I think I am going to try and buy a TT thats already been modified to a degree in the engine department to save a bit of money.

I have 10x19ET51 rear wheels and 9x19ET50 front wheels and actually added spacers (5mm per side front, 15mm per side rear) to make the car look a little more aggressive. My car is lowered with Eibach springs and Koni shocks and the wheels do not rub.
