CHR155
Hey all! My name is Chriss, I currently own a Honda Civic and am a part of the Jap club, Clan Japan. I am looking to buy a mkIV supra June time next year when my insurance is due for renewal and thought this would be the best place to get some advice. Im looking at getting an auto (due to cost of a manual) single or twin turbo. If anyone has any advice on whether the n/a converted singles are worth going for or whether I should just get a TT with stock turbos. tony tt
Welcome Chris. Plenty knowledge on here and a good few members in Strathclyde. A good straight TT auto is what I'd be aiming for bud then get it to bpu level. Great cars and relatively cheap to get them to 400hp. The Auto gearbox is pretty good. CHR155
Thanks Tony. I've heard the auto box is good to about 500hp but I wont be looking at that sort of power for a while. I will however be looking into a bpu, maybe just removing the one cat so that its still MOTable.
tony tt
Good stuff bud. Auto box is good for 600 mate. Mine is running 590 on a stock box with two transmission coolers so it's quite capable.
CHR155
I have heard all the arguments over import and UK TT's. I assume I am good to get either, although the import is easier to find? Not too fussed about all the options (i.e big brakes, leather seats etc) as these can all be retrofitted anyways! =)
Benjy
Imports usually haven't had to withstand the winters we have for as long as a UK car will have, so just be wary of rot when you look at any Supra, but mainly UK's.
