Emanage ultimate assistance

Hi Everyone

I've just been reading through a few posts and wondered if anyone might be able to help me as i know a few of the guys on here have done the following before.

I'm looking to run a single setup via an emanage ultimate. I've been told not to go larger than the Sard 540cc drop in injectors due to difficulty in tuning with anything larger but i really wanted to opt for the 650cc Sards. I don't really like the thought of running the 540cc injectors near their max and the 650cc will give me headroom should i decide to go for a standalone ecu and look for more power later.

Is there any help or even a map that anyone might be able to share?

Specs for the car are as follows;

1997 VVTi 6spd manual

Hoping to fit the Whiftbitz single kit with borg warner s362

650cc Sard drop ins

Walbro 255lph fuel pump

3" dump and mid pipe, blitz nur spec cat back

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

You should be OK with 650cc injectors, the EMU is not good at lag, so it usually takes a bit of faffing about to get a setting that suits the injectors, one you get this right it should be fine, as for using other peoples maps, as not two motors run exactly the same even with the same setup your best of getting it mapped from scratch.

Luckily I'm on nightshift :)

I'm running 720cc injectors on an E-Manage Ultimate, and I've seen 800cc ones run just fine as well. The unit can handle them nicely if its features are used correctly, i.e. a combination of injector and airflow trimming. It's not a simple thing to achieve, though, mainly around the midrange as the stock ECU does some fruity moves for the sequential transition. It's easy to go too rich (bogging the car or stuttering it) or too lean (detonation!) around 4000rpm. Sub-4000rpm also needs to be addressed as the stock first turbo runs at 13:1 AFRs, try that in a high gear on a single turbo and it'll have unpleasant consequences :)

You can also bump the timing right up when off-boost to compensate for the low down lag ona single, it's a great unit.

You can get a good 600+bhp reliably out of a setup like this without having to go standalone. The single Walbro pump won't go past this power figure as it can't flow enough fuel.

I've helped someone with an E-Manage on a VVTi Supra as well, so it's all perfectly possible

Oh yes, this. You might need a resistor pack thing as well that GReddy supply, otherwise it runs dog rough. I lucked out and didn't have to tweak my injector lag at all, and the drop-in 650's that most people used back in the day were alright as well I think :)

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback.

I'll go with the 650cc injectors and hope that it can be worked out and runs well. If not, i'll be coming back for some more help on some of the settings :)
