Delboy52
Does anyone have this gear knob and can say what the diameter of the base opening is for the gear shifter shaft to go into? Is it greater than 15mm? Also, does the base unscrew on this particular model? http://www.momo88.com/sitepix/products/momo_shift_knob_race_airleather_racair_lg.jpg
Poshmalc
They're universal mate, I had one on an old MX-5. They just tighten up with grub screws underneath the screw up collar on the bottom. When you buy new you get a selection of rubber inserts so it fits perfectly. Feels bloody big in your hand though, I'd go for a Quaiffe nylon gearknob, they feel the best imo
Delboy52
I'm planning on dressing up the auto shifter and this one looks like I can drill out the top to fabricate a space for the overdrive button. There is an additional metal collar around the Supra's threaded shifter stem which is 15mm. Wasn't sure if they'd be enough clearance when the knob is pushed down to move out of park etc.
Poshmalc
I did the same with a Quaife knob and just put the over drive on a switch! Hardly use it anyway! Edited December 1, 2014 by Poshmalc (see edit history)
