SUPRA4EVA
I can't seem to find anything on this topic. All I can find is tt vs single turbo. Is restoring a Single Turbo Conversion to TT a straightforward job? Say I found an original Supra but it is a Single Turbo Conversion what would I be looking at to restore it to a TT? Thanks
Tommyd16
Probly be easy enough. Just swap someone's standard parts for the single parts. I'm sure a lot of people, including myself would be up for it depending on what current set up you have lol
j_jza80
should be reasonably straight forward, but time consuming. There are a lot of parts that will have been changed. It will be expensive too.
Hitbox Junkie
As above your find members that want to go single from t TT deppending on your current single set up
crock
I'd be interested in this, depending on what Single turbo kit its runningand condition etc etc
Mk4Gaz
I've got the majority of the parts you'd need to convert back. I went single a couple of months ago, and still have most of the twin stuff
Benjy
I might be interested in some single parts...
mellonman
also depends if its N/A -T
tony tt
If it's a poor single set up it may be worth using the money for taking the car back to twins to rectifying the single issues if it has any. Is it a lower powered set up you are looking for?
SUPRA4EVA
Wow I seem to have started something here! Guys, unfortunately I don't own a Supra yet but I am working on it. No, it's something I always wondered but nerve found being discussed, NA-T yes, TT to Single Turbo yes, Auto to 6 Speed, 2JZ-GE to 2JZ-GTE but restoring TT not really it's ether super easy or no one does it! Say I get a Single turbo Supra, since there is a lot of them around and I want to go back to TT, is it a case of buying the whole TT setup and sticking it back in or does it require some set up? The word I'm looking for is blot on? I never really messed with turbos but I'm hands on, I did my MR2 clutch, SMIC and many other fun things haha if it counts!! Benjy
If you're going stock turbos, I imagine stock ECU aswell and fuelling. No setting up required as a stock ECU a will be plug and play with all the stock injectors etc and turbo stuff.
mellonman
i think stewart w , done the swap single back to TT as the car was worth more as a TT and could sell the single turbo stuff
SUPRA4EVA
Mk4Gaz , how much would you be looking for the TT setup?
Mk4Gaz
Well, I don't have everything bud, but most of it. Stock twins, perfect working order Exhaust manifold Exhaust gas bypass valve Exhaust collector Stock fuel rail with 440s Fuel pulsation damper Egbv vsv Tvsv Oem bov I'd sell all of the above for £300 You'd need to source: Iacv vsv Manifold heatshield Vacuum lines Intake pipework Turbo pipework Turbo oil lines Ive possibly got a couple more bits kicking around, but that list would be almost everything
Benjy
I've probably got everything Gaz hasn't to be fair.
drift_bear
Save the ball ache and just buy my TT6 lol
Mk4Gaz
I was going to say, Benjy can probably help with most of the other items.
Luxluc
After driving a single Supra, why would you want to go back to 200+ bhp less. You will pay a LOT more money for a single car, and then add costs to go back to stock. Better watch out for a nice TT Supra.

Scott
This is actually a fairly clever prospect. If you were to spend, say, 12-15k on a single 6 spd tubby.... you would probably get a good few K back from selling the parts. Most likely you would make more of a difference than it would to just buy a TT6. Anyway. I can't see any issues at all for swapping back to TT6. The only thing I would say, if you are looking to do it, is get yourself a good known TT6 harness, so that you don't need to worry about any loom modifications. That way the wiring is absolutely straight forward and absolutely everything is plug and play
SUPRA4EVA
Guys, thanks for all your amazing answers and suggestions I have never had a warmer welcome than this! The car I am looking at is exactly what I want features/spec wise and almost stock but has a Single Turbo setup with a little more power over stock TT (actually a BPU TT could achieve the same...) and I can actually afford it. Trouble is I though about a TT6 but I really want one now as I can't bare to wait any longer!! Besides by the time I upgrade it to a TT6 say it will cost about as much as they cost anyway but at least I will get to work on the car and spread the cost and make it more affordable to do and hopefully find any issue along the way, you always do! lol PITA yes but I don't mind as long as I can find all the relevant info and parts. If and once I get the car I will post pic ect... Thanks again
JasonR24
Is the car you're looking at the red one on eBay by any chance? I started a thread about it: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=316177 I would do some research on this car tbh
