Brazil
Any Syvecs expert on here?
mellonman
sounds like it must be too lean in the vacuun part of the map or you have a vac leak, if theres not another issue sorry to see your still not having great luck with your car if you have the software / logger you could see what its doing
Alex
How is the idle controlled? Through the stock IACV? or through the throttle plate? If it's the former I'd take it off and clean it.
Brazil
Could it be anything related to a relay? Which ones can I change round or check?
Brazil
Ok syvecs is saying its engine oil pressure trip. As soon as I take foot of the accelerator the sensor reads pressure rapidly come down to below cut out levels. Stange since on idle is fine on throttling is ok but only when throttling down that is reads this and cuts off.
Brazil
Mechanic thinks it because he place the oil sensor driver side engine block where the original oil feed to the OEM turbos.
mattdavies
I think Budz had this problem and it just needs the parameter changing
Brazil
yes we tweaked the parameters on the syvecs and its ok now. Strange though how low oil pressure goes when you let the throttle afte wot?
Brazil
When I remove the oil cap should there be any oil? I am not seeing any and my car is still cutting out as per Syvecs from reading low oil pressure when taking foot off throttle.
Chris Wilson
Has it got a proper MECHANICAL oil pressure gauge fitted as I suggested? I am concerned the people working on the car seem clueless, the answers to these questions should be obvious to any half decent mechanic. I am also concerned that it seems no one was actually there in person to do the mapping and watch things like a hawk during the all important start up and systems tests. Did it get run in without all the aftermarket oil cooler stuff like I suggested? The stuff you said gave trouble when the original engine you had built failed? You need to get a proper mechanical oil pressure gauge on the thing.
Benjy
When I remove the oil cap should there be any oil? Haha... Good joke...
mellonman
You have checked the actual oil level right? Its easy to think its fine after a build and check once then drive a while and still think its fine when you could have used alot
chazuk
Where is the sensor mounted ?.

Brazil
Guys if I put an extra 1.5 liter than I need is it ok to drive it like that?
RobUK
Depends what the level is at... It has a min-max for a reason
stevie_b
Guys if I put an extra 1.5 liter than I need is it ok to drive it like that? I would advise you not to. I suggest you crack open the oil sump drain plug and run some out of there. I always double-dip, a single reading can be misleading on some of the cars I've owned. Benjy
Guys if I put an extra 1.5 liter than I need is it ok to drive it like that? Just give it to a professional. In the nicest possible way, as much as it's nice to do your own tinkering, some of the questions you're asking is seriously worrying. To avoid munching the engine, get a pro involved! Pudsey
If you mean your oil dip stick is displaying maximum fill, and you intend to add more oil that's not a good idea at all. Pretty sure that's not what you mean, but just incase it is don't go over the maximum. Too much oil is as bad as too little, and you will end up blowing seals. You need someone who knows what they are doing to look at it
CanisLupus
Honestly if you are just decelerating without braking and the oil pressure is definately falling off then there is a mechanical Problem in the system. I only had oil pressure Falling of with Semi Slick tires and hard braking. I would follow Chris advice and recheck the pressure with a mechanical gauge on a suitable place. Hitbox Junkie
Too much oil is as bad if not worse than to little.
