T2 MSW
Does anyone know where you can get the Thermal intake gaskets from and how thick they are??
Mk4Gaz
Do you mean a phenolic spacer gasket bud? I've heard good things about them, but alas, I don't know where you'd buy one from
T2 MSW
Yeah I think they are the same thing, I need it for its spacing properties but if an added side effect is keeping the charge temps down then Bonus
Mk4Gaz
Pretty sure the ones we used to fit to the 3sgte engines were about 20mm thick. Being honest though, it was ages ago, and my memory isn't the best!
Frank Bullitt
Last one I bought was from eBay USA, it was a thick plastic type material and clear in colour. There is this option (http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-THERMAL-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-GASKET-Toyota-Supra-93-98-/181588395622?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item2a47830666&vxp=mtr) but i'm not sure if it's the same? T2 MSW
That's them thanks, they don't look that thick?
dandan
I had one between the head and runners and another between the runners and plenum. They were about 4mm thick from memory. I'll see if I can find any info on where I bought them...
T2 MSW
4mm aint going to cut it May be either cutting the cam sensors and soldering them on or getting a new intake manifold here
dandan
What are you trying to do Mike - any pics?
Kev.O
I'm sure the one I fitted was about 4-5mm
T2 MSW
The crap intake manifold I have is not far enough away from the head so an aftermarket fuel rail will fit. Trying to decide a way forward with Paul that does not involve swapping back to stock intake or buying a new one. There is not enough room to put the cam sensor connectors on. Kev.O
So it's the fuel rail that's currently in the way, due to the intake manifold?
T2 MSW
So it's the fuel rail that's currently in the way, due to the intake manifold? Yep, on a stock intake or hypertune the rail fits perfect as its been tried and installed on other cars. I had a stock intake before this and it fitted just fine. TheTurtleshead
Turn the cam sensors 180 degrees? If that's what's causing the issue, looking at the pics.
T2 MSW
Turn the cam sensors 180 degrees? Still don't work as then the intake runners are in the way. Edited November 25, 2014 by T2 MSW (see edit history)
Kev.O
If the rail is in a different location, do the injectors fit ok? I've just looked back through my photos but there's nothing that's of any real use I'm afraid.
buster
Can you not get a thick spacer water jetted out of metal? Prob under £
