Brodierx7
Im curious to know whats the difference between HKS cam pulleys and these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-CHASER-MK4-MK3-1JZ-2JZ-ADJUSTABLE-ENGINE-CAM-VERNIER-PULLEY-SET-/230861020192?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item35c0639c20
Guest pharmed
I'd also like to know this
wattwatt
Don't get me wrong I no more or less nothing about cam pulleys, but from what I've read and been looking around the forum the picture looks to be the actual HKS picture?? which is then kinda confirmed further into the description with this statement 'THE PULLEYS WILL BE BLUE NOT PURPLE AS SHOWN' So your not actually going to receive the same one's as in the picture? but then again the guy has nearly 73k positive feedback so he can't be selling poor quality stuff. jay200bhp
Im busy today so to simply for the new boys.... Ebay = cheap shit. HKS = good quality parts....but you all ready know that
Mk4Gaz
I'm not saying the eBay ones are good or bad, but how do you know they're of lesser quality than branded ones? They're probably all made in the same factory. Has anyone in metallurgy actually ever done a proper comparison?
Guest Budz86
Depends on what he's selling as to having 73k feedback. It might be ok for your civic, say. But these engines are high performance; buy cheap. Pay twice.
Kaan W
You want ones with preferably 5 or 6 adjustment bolts to avoid gear slip like some of the less bolt designs have.
Hibbz
i have these, from the same company, they do sell the purple ones, i will find you a link, i got mine for £40. turned up quickly, well wrapped and not a mark on them, alot of people said they are poo and will just turn, how ever i have driven my supra up and down the country and 4 times and been drag racing and they havn't moved once. if you where local i'd happily invite you over to check them out first. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-1JZ-2JZ-GTE-ADJUSTABLE-VERNIER-CAM-CAMSHAFT-ENGINE-PULLEYS-PAIR-/361118577580?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item54145833ac £21 atm the moment. the only problem with the company's description is s***. as this is the exact ones i bought - i have link saved, and mine turned up purple. if required i can get your a few pictures

Brodierx7
I already have them in blue, it was my girlfriend that bought them for me and I just want to make sure they will be ok. I would normally have gone for a brand. At least if I'm putting a clear cam cover on I can keep a eye on them etc.

Hibbz
easy to fit, and to be honest i think i just did my hand tight but i not had a problem so must be tight i also have a clear cover. https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10557244_10152389637484081_2629191958581408147_n.jpg?oh=0b636f54289bce4ff19cb6da94fbac2c&oe=55196999
Kendo11
Sorry to reignite this, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has actually used these and subsequently had a problem with them? I know the obvious rule is if it's cheap on eBay it's probably crap, but on an NA with limited engine mods would I genuinely be running a risk? Very interested if anyone has actually had problems with these. Cheers
Kendo11
In fact ignore those questions, done a quick Google of other car forums. Definitely avoid.
jaw
poor finish on teeth and slipping etc the main downside? I guess this is all less risky on a non-interference engine? Although I've not read any horror stories I'd guess the gears cracking in two due to a shoddy alloy / manufacturing defects could be a risk too? Not that I'm planning to get any, interesting to know the real world difference though. I've had nothing but bad experiences with cheap no name chinese made ebay parts for bikes. Brodierx7
I can still return them so I'm thinking HKS/whifbitz or Titan.
