ellis
Howdy guys - my ABS light has been on for a while now (along with other lights that are flashing: OD Light and Slip Cont Off). Car is now in for its MoT which it's failing because of this light. Anybody got any ideas what could be causing this light to come on? A sensor somewhere? Electrical gremlin? Where's bloody Swampy when I need him?!!
keron
what code does it bring up? code 42? i had one in recently which turned out to be a faulty speedo converter and wiring to the active spoiler.
Ric
should have took the bulb out before the MOT if you knew about it. least it would have passed, so you can fix it after.

I think it will probably be the speed converter - that might explain all the other flashing lights as well! No code as yet as the guys at the garage are waiting for me to give them info. mellonman
does your abs still work ? i had an issue and it was a bad sensor
ellis
Not noticed any difference with the braking to be honest so I'm 'assuming' it still is. I'm off to the garage shortly with a load of print outs from threads on here - will see what we can suss out!
ellis
Ok - just been round to the garage - the guys are doing their best there. Initially these codes were coming up: 11, 41, 49 and 51. When they cleared them off only 11 remained which comes up as: "Open or short in solenoid relay circuit. Check actuator wiring harness, solenoid relay, solenoid relay wiring harness, and solenoid relay connector." Now, they've run a multimeter on the ABS Solenoid Control Relay and there's 12v in to the main switched feed but 0v on the Control Circuit Supply. Any idea anyone as to why this would be? Is there another issue elsewhere?
Slam
Have you tried to clean the sensor s. Me and Darren fixed mine with a clean up of one of the sensors. Might be as simple.

Guest Nicholas
IIRC if you pull all 4 fuses the lights will go out, then they can pass the mot, then resolve after.

ellis
It's round at BLS in Lincoln, near the office. Currently off da road! 2 new tyres Monday for the MoT but this ABS light conundrum has got everyone flummoxed so far. Must say a massive thank you to CW today for this telephonic help - you're a star sir, as always. Craig, I'm out of town tomorrow but if you're lurking over the weekend be good to pick your brains!
