supra_ufo
Afternoon folks I have a set of hub centric 20mm wheel spacers however they do not include the studs, so rather than spending £80+ish pound on a set of ones with studs is it possible to buy this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110788770473?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT the main question is will it work on the rears (advertised for front wheels) and will I have enough room to get them in? The other option is this however the engine code doesnt match mine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JZZ30-Soarer-1JZ-GTE-10-x-Longer-Rear-Wheel-Studs-65mm-/110600963782?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre_Trims_Trims_ET&hash=item19c054c6c6
Mk4Gaz
I bought mine from demon tweeks, found them cheaper than anywhere else. Think they were listed for a vauxhall, but they share the same spline pattern
jagman
Often the studs offered are wrong - they have the wrong shank taper , you can pull them in but use too much force to do so - this over stresses the studs - close but not carling
Mk4Gaz
That's what I found with the ones I bought off eBay. However, the demon tweeks ones were perfect.

Mk4Gaz
Sorry chaps, forgot about this. I'll have a look tonight, to see if I can find them again!
Mk4Gaz
pretty sure it was these ones http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/wheel-nuts-bolts/grayston-wheel-stud m12 x 1.5mm vauxhall From memory, stock studs are 44mm, so you have the choice of 7mm or 19mm longer I'm almost certain these were the correct type, but if you do order them, please double check first - comparing one to a stock one before fitting
supra_ufo
thanks gaz Wish my car was with me so I can check, im pretty sure our wheels were very similar, mine are ruff racing 9.5" ET35. As an example I have 20mm spacers so if I were to go for the 7mm then the nut wont have enough thread, so i'll play it safe with 19mm longer. hows your build going? please update... Mk4Gaz
My build is done bud, running beautifully Next spring is tidy up the paintwork, and find something else to modify lol ! I've also got 9.5 rears, et35 from memory, but I found they rubbed when I tried 15mm spacers I think 10mm would be the limit without arch work, but I am about 35mm lower than stock on teins. You need to update the project mate as I may go down the same route in the coming years. From what I can see there wont be much rubbing as im not running that low on the rears

Ric
did you have the arches rolled before the paint? i can't remember, if you bring the wheels out they might scrub? if not
supra_ufo
No I didnt Ric, suppose if it comes to it I have a few options, either run stretch tyres or get it rolled.
Ric
rolling can crack paint though, just so you know

Ric
im pretty sure I PM'ed Al Massey months ago and he said it cant... Arch enemy did mine, and it cracked, all properly done, heated etc. didn't matter so much as it was been painted.
supra_ufo
Ill see, im pretty sure Al was trained by them too, if there is a risk of it cracking id rather go stretched tyres. Ill ask the bodyshop and see if they can roll it before its painted again.
