Jellybean
The weather last two days here is just constant down pours and flooding When moved the next morning at 10km/h she gives off a high pitched squeak with the rotation of the wheel until I get out of the car park , park her up and nothing , seems to happen when she is left to sit over night I am nearly sure I heard the same noise from a new 2014 golf yesterday in the car park I presume weather related ? trebor69
Maybe overnight corrosion on the discs from all the water .....also sounds like your calipers may be starting to tighten up/stick...

Chris Wilson
Seizing rear caliper piston or pistons, if UK spec brakes. Seizing rear caliper piston or caliper slider pins if Jap spec sound likely from your description. See if a rear wheel is getting hotter than the other after a mainly braking free run. Jellybean
Thanks! They are UK brakes, will test the wheel temp But just re-built all the calipers a few months back with your SS pins Chris LOL, the squeak disappeared until last night , seems to have a small squeak when I turn right at very low speed 5km/hr need to try replicate it again today , wheel bearing? Chris Wilson
Yes, could be a failed bearing, once they spin on the hub flange they can squeak and squeal. See if the hub nut is REALLY tight, if the hub flange is worn the nut usually slackens off. Tightening it is NOT a fix though.

Chris Wilson
Make sure the handbrake is OFF and ideally the pads out before doing the pulling and tugging. The handbrake will stabilize the hub bearing if it's ON.
