veilsideTT
My car has had a full engine rebuild due to both turbo’s being damaged. The stock intercooler was full of oil when it was removed so I drained it as much as I could. After doing a 1000 miles running in period, I have developed 2 problems 1, Front crank shaft oil seal (being fixed in the next few days) 2, I have noticed oil around the two big pipes going into either side of the BOV which has also dripped down onto the Turbo's heatsheild. I pulled off the intercooler pipe on the turbo side and there seems to be a slight oil residue around the piping. Checked the throttle side pipe and that is as dry as a bone. Can anyone shine a light on this problem? Could there be any oil left in the intercooler that is blowing back up to the turbo's? Is this possible? I did a search and found that changing the clips on the BOV pipes would stop them leaking but surely there shouldn’t be any oil going through the BOV anyway? Should there? Thanks Scott

You say :- Originally posted by veilsideTT My car has had a full engine rebuild due to both turbo’s being damaged. 1, Front crank shaft oil seal (being fixed in the next few days) Thanks Scott I would be extremely worried about your engine rebuilder if after a 1000 miles you already need a new crank seal. Maybe if they have been careless here that is also why you are also seeing oil in your inlet tract. Just to introduce myself................................ Dragonball
Take no notice of these old gits on the forum:p A small amount of oil residue is, I believe, quite normal around the dump valve etc Check out the search facility under 'technical' section Cheers and welcome to the board - BTW it is customary for a brief introduction of yourself etc! Cheers Paul
veilsideTT
Sorry about my ignorance guys It’s a bit late now but hi to everyone on the board anyways Bought my sup last year, decided to rebuild the engine and compliment her with a full Veilside body kit, and a change of colour. Im just waiting for my 19" Blitz technospeeds now. Hope to see you all at some meets this summer (If my engine ever gets sorted) Thanks for your replies on my subject.
