Hi all, I've got a auto tt running with a greddy profec 2, greddy emanage blue, induction kit, blitz bov (also have a has ssqv fitted as well) single cat with cat back exhaust.

 

My problem is no matter what setting I have the profec set to the car over boosts to around 18psi (would go over but that's when I lift off).

I've tried reducing all settings to minimum and nothing makes a difference, it reads the boost correctly (I have a separate apexi gauge for confirmation) and the warning alarm hoes off at 17.3psi, it just keeps boosting.

 

I'm a fairly new to supras so any help would be greatly received.

Tbh all the mods were done before I bought the car, I have no idea if a restrictor ring is there neither do I know if the boost controller is fitted correctly.

I do have the new profec (oled display) ready to replace the profec 2 (not a fan of the old one) so I guess I could check when replacing it.

Is it easy to see if a restrictor ring is there?

Maybe it's set up/mapped to boost that high on the greddy emanage.i doubt it though as 18psi is fairly high on stock turbos.

What injectors are you running.ideally need to know the full engine/mod spec to properly advise. But a restrictor ring would be the first port of call

Yep I've tried that, doesn't make a difference, occasionally I can hear the boost solenoid clicking away but not every time .

I've wanted to get the car in for a tune up but there's no one around my area (Swindon) that have a rolling road or knowledge of the emanate blue, quite frustrating.

Does you first post say you have a cat fitted? If that's the case a restrictor ring wouldn't be needed. That said I wouldn't be raising the boost through the controller or emanage with the cat there (albeit it could've been mapped to account for the cat)

Pull the solenoid hoses off, and connect it back up in the stock fashion - ie put a piece of hose from the no.1 turbo back on to the actuator, thus removing the boost controller.

 

Take it for a drive, and see what boost it reaches, should be circa 10psi iirc.

 

If it's much higher than that, you could have a faulty actuator or wastegate
