gordy.r
Ok, random, but I've noticed over the last few months, the handbrake dash light coming on when I accelerate medium to hard. It seems to do it either upon hard acceleration or just when you let off the throttle under med-hard acceleration. There's isn't much play in the handbrake as I thought the acceleration might be lifting the handbrake handle and just activating the light but I've watched and the handbrake doesn't move. Any ideas or anyone experienced this before? - - - Updated - - - Ahhhh just found this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?307206-Warning-Lights-flashing-on-hard-cornering&highlight=Handbrake+dash+light

gordy.r
Check your brake fluid level Cheers, seems to be what's said on that other thread as well.
Josh42
Cheers, seems to be what's said on that other thread as well. This. It happened to me on my car last year. It seems that the sensor is very sensitive.
Abz
Yep, as Rog & Josh said, I had exactly the same.
dangerous brain
Low brake fluid, could also mean your pads are all well worn as brake fluid generally doesn't tend to leak but it does fill up callipers as they move out to take up the gap made by thinned down pads. Marcus GTE
Fyi the handbrake light is also a general purpose warning light. What's going on with this car mate? Hope that's your last gremlin!

Hope that's your last gremlin! Oh, didn't know that. I'll maybe swing a paper clip across the test terminals and see if there's a fault code. I did notice my (non cold air blowing) heater unit lights flickering today and going off and dimming from time to time under different loads. Worst case scenario the cars going into GI Motorsport for a LOT of work end of the month and it's staying in there to be worked on slow time until next year. So I may have it all investigated whilst it's in.
