Can someone tell me what this box is and why its making a bubbling/ sizzling sound?

Hey guys can someone please give me a hand and tell me what the box is with the two hoses coming out from the top? Driving back home from a garage after changing the spark plugs and leads and this box is making a bubbling/ sizzling sound? Cant deduce it myself as my manuals etc are in Japanese haha.....

Its the charcoal canister. i think they all do that. it just meens its working.

Quick answer. It's a carbon canister, used for storing fumes from petrol tank, then gets sucked in to the engine.
