Paul372
It's time to service the supra, so it's got me looking at different oil filters, what's the best and recomended oil filter for a tt bpu, I've always gone with oem parts but does the trd filter or blitz / hks / greedy / k&n filters offer better performance what's pros and cons advice and your input would be great, does it just comes down to price and paying for the brand or will the supra benefit for choosing one of the branded filters thanks
Marcus GTE
I've heard of folk using a bigger Lexus oil filter before but I'm not sure what the benifit of that would be, I would just stick to OEM as I wouldn't be surprised if some of the "performance" filters are actually poorer quality. Dnk
Only ever used genuine filters from Toyota in both my UK spec cars, over 100,000 miles covered with no problems and they're only just over £10 too
Luxluc
I only use OEM.

Suprakeith
I use hks on mine and got a mate to check the filtration compared to oem, and the hks filtered the oil down to smaller partial size which meant it cleaned the oil better and it flowed higher oil levels than the oem. My mate was head of oil control at Honda in Swindon and used their faculties to compare oil filters.

Chris Wilson
Any well known brand filter is fine. I spent a LOT of money on my RB26DETT engine, a real LOT, but I am totally happy to use whatever is good value at the time at the local factors. Coopers, Fram, Blueprint, Motorcraft, blah blah. Would I spend more on an OE filter for it. NO! Would I spend more on a K&N or HKS? No!!!.
