MichaelG
Morning folks Have bought myself one of those fandango MP3 type player things for going away on holiday next weekend, and was wondering what everyone uses to download their music mp3's onto the comp before transferring onto the mp3 player? I used to use Kazaa Lite but deleted it from the comp cos of spyware / adware problems etc. But if anyone has anything they can recommend then mucho appreciated ! paulfurn
try Soulseek mate - http://www.slsknet.org - the app isnt always dead fast at downloading, but leave it be for a while and it will - most of the time - get the job done. Also check out http://www.mininova.org and look in the music/mp3 section (Browse categories, then music), but for that you'll need a Bittorrent client with which to donwload. PM me, or post up here if you get stuck with the configuration mate!
monkey76364
Cant go wrong with Imesh !!! but make sure you have your firewall running, some little buggers always try and have a go !!!

JamesG
For p2p stuff I use Shareaza which is very good and also does bittorrent. My main source for music and videos is now Usenet. I subscribed to Giganews which provides unlimited downloads from their newsgroup server for $25/month. For a newsgroup reader I use NewsLeecher as it indexes all the alt.binaries groups and lets you search very quickly. I can find almost any album I like and download it in about 5 minutes
paulfurn
Also check out http://www.mp3search.ru - you get most songs for $0.10 each Been using it for a while now!

superstar dj
try torrentreactor.net or hotspot.fx.net both require you to download bittorrent first but they are pretty good for new stuff and albums
Jake
Google can be pretty good for MP3s sometimes. For example, if you were looking for Coldplay MP3s you could Google for this : "index of" "Last modified" "Parent Directory" mp3 coldplay Which looks like this in Google and there in the search results is : http://mastris.student.ugm.ac.id/mp3list/Foreign/Coldplay%20-%20A%20Rush%20of%20Blood%20To%20The%20Head/ Cool huh? michael
How do you mean "Buy" ? It's a complex process and a lot slower than your favoured 'evaluation' method.
Nic
I use software for my may that uses Gnuttella file sharing same as Limewire. A tip if you are looking for whole albums is to search for album name + file type of rar or zip, this may find you a compressed file of entire album that you can download. If you are looking for a specific artist also try searching for 'discography' + rar or zip, sometimes you can find the whole album collection of a band compressed into one file.
