Scoot
Hi everyone. Changing over plugs today for some nice Iridum ones. Only, the first plug I removed was soaked in oil. And upon looking into the chamber, I was greeted with this. Now, a search on the forum suggests this could be the cam cover seals, But that amount of oil? Really? Anyone have any thoughts? mellonman
Yes therecan be that much oil, if the seals are shot ebay rocker cover gaskets in ebay and you can get a set of blue print ones cheap
Ric
Do you get blue smoke when you start it up? I doubt that is the rocker cover gaskets, the spark plug wells look pretty clean, all that oil is in the cylinder? i wouldn't have thought leaking stem seals would let that much oil into the cylinder, it looks full? Mad Hatter
I'd replace the coil pack plugs immediately if I were you! I've just done them on mine, dead easy.
Scoot
No smoke on start up Ric, I'm not too sure on the level of oil in there though. My heart sank when I saw that and I just gave up for the day. Looks like a trip to toyota for the seals and washer tomorrow then. Mad Hatter, I just broke that plug about 5 minutes before taking this photo. It was stuck in place and no amount of pulling was going to help! Cheers guys.
