tony tt
Sounds like the battery is pumped. You got a volt meter?
Scott
Is it turning over? Might be ignitor related due to pulling the battery.
Kaan W
I'm not sure on your setup but maybe fuel pump?
Westy
Yes it's turning over Scott. What issues would pulling the battery have caused with te ignitor!? - - - Updated - - - No volt meter unfortunately.
Westy
I'm not sure on your setup but maybe fuel pump? It's all stock mate.
Kaan W
It's all stock mate. Something alarm related, imobilizer? I'm not to sure to be honest, can't be anything serious.
Westy
There is a volt meter on the turbo timer reading 12.2V
Geo
can you hear the fuel pump prime?
Westy
Not sure tbh mate:(
Scott
Not sure tbh mate:( Turn everything off, give it 20 minutes or so to let the pressure drop. After that, make sure the radio etc is off and then turn the key to ignition on (pre-starter). You will hear whirring coming from the boot, this is the pump priming. If that's OK then you have fuel, if it's not then either the relay has gone or the alarm is triggering the immobiliser.
Westy
No whine from the boot. Must be an immobiliser issue!?
Kaan W
With my alarm I had to connect/disconnect the battery with the key switched to "on" otherwise it caused all kinds of problems. That was aftermarket though but worth a try?
Geo
No whine from the boot. Must be an immobiliser issue!? if you have no whine, then fuel pumped aint sending fuel. Could be a simple fuse, locate the fuel pump fuel, sure its on the engine bay, look at the diagram, them replace it. see if it works? Westy
Put in the immobiliser code manually and still couldn't hear the fuel pump, turned it over then heard the pump whine a bit...so cranked it again and it started. Lumpy at first and the idle was low so a gentle rev to get more fuel and it seems to be ok ATM. Going to let it run a bit before turning it off. Fingers crossed it starts again. mattdavies
Could be the main 120amp fuse ?
TheTurtleshead
Ahhh… Sounds like the alarm has shat itself. Is it a clifford? I had one die on me randomly in McDonalds car park before and I didn't know the manual code. Luckily I had some basic tools so I ended up lying upside-down in the rain cutting it out with pliers.. Aaarggh!
Westy
It's a Cobra Cat 1 fitted at JM when the car landed in the UK. Fingers crossed that's it sorted. If not I'll reset it and input a new pin.
