listy
I'm replacing the brake pads on the mazda, but cant find my large d-shape clamp. Any other way (besides using the correct tool) to wind the calliper piston back in?
Benjy
You can wind it in the direction it needs to go using some smaller grips, and use a big pair of grips to shove the piston back periodically. Or stop being a tightarse and go and buy one from Halfords for about £
listy
I would go Halfords, but the calliper is off and the Supe is off the road lol I've tried using grips, but it doesn't want to turn in.

Then you'll be walking to Halfords or walking everywhere until you can get one delivered mon frere... Lol
Scott
Is it castellated? If so, put something over the gaps and lever it round. You'll only get a 1/4 turn at a time but it's better than nothing. Years ago I didn't have the kit for my focus so I just tapped it with a hammer. The shock made it rotate round and in. listy
Cheers guys. A mixture of the advice worked in the end. Knock it with a hammer, turn with grips. Repeat until done
