Morzy2k5
I've currently got a toms ecu fitted to my sup,it runs like a dream and pulls pretty well for a non turbo, question is what is the rev limit set too?as I can rev it right to 8k rpm and it still won't cut at 8!!! but I naturally back off as I don't want to destroy the valves/springs reving that high. I have wired in a bee r limiter for the time being so I can limit the revs to 7.5k. Any info would be great.
Morzy2k5
Can any one help me out?also what would be a safe limit to set the rev limit too?7.5k rpm or 8krpm.....what will the stock cams and valves and springs take rev wise? Thanks
Graham1984
Allegedly you are wasting your time reving that high as the power would be dropping away by then, over if you changed up a gear and was in the power band. There is a rumour the similar Mines ecu had a few cases where the rev limit was not capped at 8000rpm and 80,000rmp was set instead which would lead to the inevitable destruction of the engine. Morzy2k5
Ah right ok,just nice having that extra 1000rpm In certain gears to save you changing. As long as the head can take 8k rpm i should be ok? Must be fairly safe as mines wouldn't set there limit to 8k rpm otherwise.i just won't Go up that high very often.
