pete.osborne69
After I parked up today I heard a hissing noise checked under the bonnet and there was coolant spraying every where from the top small pipe under the turbo pipe which leads to the top coolant pipe
keron
quite common on them... you are best to change both of the 2 coolant pipes there....you dont have to get them from toyota either, just take one off and measure the id and go to a local motor factor and cut it down yourself.... also i would get 4 new clips too as your look rusty
pete.osborne69
Thanks for the quick reply Keron, what type of pipe will I need silicone? I only ask because the garages near me are not that good in terms of what I can get a hold of or ordered, I believe I can only get petrol or diesel hose and will jubilee clips do the job of holding it tight or not I have got some jubilee clips attached to the rear coolant pipes that go into the bulkhead and they don't seem to have a great seal (very slow leak) but I can't seem to find any of the original clips anywhere for sale Thanks again
keron
not silicone... its not strong enough. petrol or d pipe should do fine... yes jubilee clips will be fine... the oem clips you will only find at toyota anyway... the bulkhead ones... should not leak unless they are loose or not on correctly? or are they the cheaper clips? get a genuine jubilee clip or a very good quality one as some of the other ones look the same but are low quality and when you over tighten them, they break or loose their grip
pete.osborne69
Thanks I will have a look for some good quality jubilee clips also another quick question I am getting some electric folding mirrors later today which comes with the switch would I need the wiring loom to go with it as my car doesn't have them as standard Thanks
keron
yes the looms are different.... tbh it might be a big job... so the plug for the switch will possibly not be there either which means you will have to run fresh wires from the switch to the mirrors and also power to the switch etc etc.... most cars that never had power folding mirrors do not have the plugs for them....
