supra_24
Hey guys, Had my clutch replaced today and we noticed some one had slightly modified the propshaft bearing mount. By the looks of it to access bolts. Now is this ok to drive as it is. I have hammerite to prevent rust build up. Or is there any way to weld up the area? Any advise is appreciated. David P
What a bodge, it looks like the captive nuts have been stripped, then drilled out to clear the bolts and then holes cut to get a spanner onto the replacement nuts. It could do with being welded back up with fresh captive nuts.
supra_24
If I can't get it welded at the moment is it safe to drive?
supra_24
Also, any advice I could give to my garage in terms of welding it. Is it a hard job?
David P
It looks as though you've already been driving it like it, so a little more won't hurt, but I wouldn't want to give it any WOT. Also, any advice I could give to my garage in terms of welding it. Is it a hard job? Fiddly.
