Suspected blown headgasket. Is Halfrauds messing with me?

N/A's, for some reason, seem to suffer head gasket failure more than TT's. Physical examination of the gasket needs to be minute, the failure is often far from obvious. A sniffer test with a gas analyser, or a chemical test should show it, with no dismantling. I offer both services.

Yep you are right Chris. AA came out and confirmed exhaust gasses in coolant. Now where to find a head gasket :(

I wouldn't let halfords change a bulb on my car, never mind replacing the water pump. The smart money says that they did all the work then didn't know how to bleed the system properly, the system has been overheating with pockets of air and cooked your head.

Never, ever take a Supra to anyone that doesn't know the car inside out.

Any Toyota dealer will get you a head gasket, but the head needs checking for warpage first, if its warped it may well be scrap. If it's got really hot it may have gone soft, you need to get it hardness tested. Fitting a "soft" head will cause the gasket to just fail again.

Managed to get a skimmed head with new stem seals and everything decoked with a new gasket for a good price so will hopefully save time and money :)
