trebor69
Help please, Having issues with my engine missing and stuff, just decided to check the timing and need confirmation that I'm checking it correctly and that it IS two teeth out.... Lined up bottom pulley mark on "0" on bottom cover also have screwdriver in first cylinder to make sure its TDC cam gear marks should be at twelve 0 clock and not two teeth to the right (3 minutes past'ish) Is my timing set wrong? Thanks Edited September 21, 2014 by trebor69 (see edit history)
Swampy442
Sounds like it to me. There are dots on the cam gears and arrows pressed into the plate behind the gears, they should line up. Pictures always help though.

Ric
There are 2 timing marks on the crank pulley.. Perhaps worth mentioning it isnt a 2jz in the picture, perhaps the timing method is different?
Fizzy T
Looks out to me, it should line up.

Fizzy T
Very lucky you didn't damage any valves That's one thing I love about the 2JZ-GTE non vvti that I have, non interference with the valves as long as you haven't changed the cams.
