supra_dave
As the above post suggests my friends supra has a rattle in engine at just before 3000 revs. does anyone have any idea what may be causing this ie big ends?? Oil pressure is still good and where it should be. Please help thanks Dave
Big Supes
As per your other thread... probably best to PM Lee directly.

trebor69
Will you post up the possible answers as to where this noise may be coming from please mate? Thanks
Guest Budz86
Big end shell bearing is my guess. Could be something else like a wrist pin; but deffo something in the bottom end. Mine started doing exactly this a few weeks ago....I'm pulling the engine out this week! Will be taking it apart to have a look but if I find the cause, the whole process is major surgery for anyone else with the same issue! Guest Budz86
Hang on, just re-read that and before I come across as the merchant of doom, a few questions to see if you potentially have the same issue as me. Does the rattle go after 3k? Does it get louder with speed? Does it do it while driving and if so, can you replicate this at a standstill? Try reving the engine with your head under the bonnet; any odd noises? Any events that may have caused this; I'm thinking of hard pulls etc.
trebor69
My timing was out giving a little rattle between 2.5 and 3k but its gone now I've timed it up correctly.
