gordy.r
Ok, I've had a wee search through the threads and seen a few posts about service items but nothing definitive for what I am after. If anyone could assist me with an idea of where to best source the following items, and suggest any alternatives then I am all ears. Likewise, if I've missed anything out, please fill in the gaps! Car is a 1994 Jspec TT auto: Engine Oil - which type / brand? Oil Filter - Toyota / Crossland / Bosch / Mann? Fuel Filter - Toyota or is there a TRD one? Coolant - general I'm guessing Auto box oil - again guessing this is a Toyota part number Spark Plugs - already have Air Filter - Got both HKS and K&N panel, deciding which to keep Diff fluid - I've got a standard open diff, does this need changed? Timing belt and tensioner sand water pump..... Looking at a Gates uprated timing belt (just for peace of mind when going BPU) but I'm assuming the rest is just Mr T part numbers from my local garage? Also heard there is a forum member for oils, but again I've seen so many conflicting opinions for which oil is best. So any advice is greatly appreciated. Sorry if this has been asked before, just want to make sure I'm getting the best parts for the car. Cheers in advance.
Benjy
Oil and fuel filters - Toyota. The difference in price doesn't constitute the use of cheapo stuff. Oil - I run Castrol Edge 10/60 in my TT auto, not cheap but it is good stuff. Not too sure on ATF, a good quality one is obviously preferred. Diff oil - Save your money until you've got an LSD. If it blows up in the mean time, it's an excuse to get an LSD.
