Sorry to hear your story mate, I'd be gutted if that happened to me :( glad to see your saving it though! What type of wheels you going for?

I was hoping for these, ADV.1's, but nearly fell off the planet when I heard the prices. Could get a whole car for the money.

Something similar though if I can find them.

Wheel sizes, offsets etc. are a bit of a head melter, but have gotten some good advice, just a matter of finding the right set for the right money

The body and paint looks like they came out very nice. Good to see it getting a proper restoration after that damage, it looked nasty from the first post.

Came out very well, the pics of it painted don't do it justice.

Will look much better photographed outside when assembled

Wasn't a pretty sight at the start for sure, but wasn't as bad as it looked either.

Just needed some TLC :-)

Its been quite a while since I added anything here, had to park the restoration for a while, kids college fees etc., etc..

The windscreen cracked when it was being put back in so had to wait months for a new one.

It appeared that the rear passenger wheel bearing was giving trouble, there was a wobble in the wheel even though all the suspension components were brand new.

Toyota gave me a new one and the problem is still there.

I'm thinking its the half shaft. They may have given me the wrong one and the nut is bottoming out before it can tighten down properly.

They are giving me a new one to try next weekend.

But been working away at bits I can do.

Headlight lenses got the "treatment" and now look brand new.

New alarm system installed last week.

Brake calipers are currently undergoing a complete overhaul and repaint.

New goodridge stainless lines to be fitted

And another step in the right direction.

Wheels arrived today :-)

Tyres next month and we should be good to go.

So, one step forward and two steps back then :-(

Went out to start the car, as I usually do a few times a week for about 15 mins or so, just to keep fluids moving etc.

Screeching noise from the front of the engine .... not good at all.

Crank pulley failure .... the usual separation, after 18 years of marriage.

Looking like its a front end rebuild as the timing belt needed to be changed anyway.

Was hoping to have the car back on the road for the summer and leave all this for a winter project.

So now, its:-

Crank Pulley and nut

Timing belt

Timing belt idler assembly.

Timing belt hydraulic tensioner

Serpentine belt

Water Pump

Water pump thermostat and gasket

Power steering pump.

Is there anything I am missing or is there anything there I could leave until a later time?

Quite possibly no car this summer :-(
