letmeshowyou
So whilst it's fresh in everyones minds, I'd like to gather everyone's ideas about what we could have done better at JAE this year. Branners has committed we can do the same next year, which means much better planning and notice will be possible. I'm comfortable I know what I'm doing with the pre-event planning, but it would personally have been nice to have had a bit more time to walk around the show, keep a better eye on my chair, and also make sure that everyone was fed properly (for example that the vegetarians are fed at the same time as everyone else is). I'm also keen that Karen isn't stuck with washing up duty every time! Some people mentioned a few great ideas, as follows: - a cooking timetable and rota (ie members volunteer for bbq duty friday lunch time, or saturday late night) - scrambled eggs for breakfast - cereal for breakfast - an additional fire pit for the big circle - name tags So... any more? PS. Please try and keep it serious in this thread please... I'll prune out anything silly as I'll be using this as a point of reference for next year. Benjy
Maybe a bit of involvement in the games/events as a club Ear plugs for anyone sleeping near Grasmt... But seriously dude, you smashed it!! Couldn't have had a better time. Why don't you appoint a deputy? So you can share the hanging around, fridge duty, keeping an eye on chairs? letmeshowyou
I'd love for the club to get involved in the events. Historically we've struggled to get any interest, but I'm happy to poll on it again! A deputy is a great idea
Al Massey
I helped Karen with the washing up As mentioned, another fire pit would be good. And maybe the club buys a geny? We were definitely the biggest club there and that geny was at it's max, so if we had our own it would levitate any problems at any event, and save waiting for a brew lol Maybe more entertainment and games. Get some competitions going within the club, and hopefully the competitions at JAE(I know we didn't have much time to plan all that). letmeshowyou
You did actually, and it was much appreciated I'm keen on the generator idea... I dont think Branners would take much persuasion on it either!
Al Massey
No worries, I tried to help as much as I could. Having a deputy for you and the other organisers is a good idea. I had a few ideas, so when I remember them I'll be sure to write them down

Slam
I think we could do better than scrambled brain in the mornings, shaw we can do a small fry up,aswell as saw dust in a bowl/rabbit food . Going to try a bit harder on the play station competition next year as I was to p....d to drive, and Al is rubish.
Benjy
I don't mind having a crack at the ol' BBQ. Anything other than BBQ cooking though and you'll all die I'm afraid. My Mrs should be with me next year though, so that's the washing up rota sorted!
Slam
Also do we all want more people looking at our cars, as a lot of people didn't know we were down by the lake,as the signs indicated general camping. I know it was a bit last minute on the pitch change but just somthing to think about.

I know it was a bit last minute on the pitch change but just somthing to think about. I liked the fact that nobody needed to walk through our pitch. Felt slightly more secure - not that I had anything in the tent worth pinching... The guys the other side of the hedge must have been a bit cheesed off with us lot wandering through to get to the toilets etc. Wasn't a bad location, considering the locality of the decent toilets and shower block. Was nice and quiet too when it needed to be.
Al Massey
I actually liked our location. Out of the way, it was the biggest Going to try a bit harder on the play station competition next year as I was to p....d to drive, and Al is rubish. No one could beat me Think we were all too smashed, I've since managed to beat my time by at least 6 seconds lol

Was nice and quiet too when it needed to be. Electric wire fence needed. Yes it was a good location, but on the Saturday when the public were in,we didnt see that many people. It would still be as quite in the evening as this year.

Supragal
I helped too and offered to be allocated jobs, more than happy to be given more specific roles next year.
Supragal
Perhaps we could whore ourselves around the other stands more, give out stuff to lure them over, like balloons Let them know we're there.
Al Massey
To be honest, at the end of the day, I was more interested in the social gathering of our club than I was of the actual event. Yes I had a wonder round, which to be honest bored me a little with the trader stands and shops, seems to be very chavy stickers and cheap tat mainly. But being with our club and having a laugh with all members is what made it for me.

Could always hire some munters with their chesticles out to walk around in mkivsupra.net bikini's. The sound off attracted some people!!! I think most of the trade stalls go to Trax as that's more "mainstream" and they can sell more stuff to more people. Which is a shame. I felt a bit 50/50 on our location. Part of me liked being tucked out of the way, and the other part made me feel isolated from everyone else. In any case, we had the best stand so that's all that matters

Yeah I noticed that after looking at pics from my mates going. Which I don't know why, JAE was massive. Maybe we could get our traders and even hobbyists stands or stalls at ours? Another way to show members what is available.

Think it was the signs saying general camping which is why people, didn't come to see us.
Benjy
If we wind up on that plot again, we can chuck a sign up at the top of the road bit and maybe the other end of the hedge. Just a simple "Supra" sign and an arrow?
drift_bear
If we end up there again, I'll just attract the crowds like last time with noise lol. On a serious note though, we should try get the spot the mkiii owners had, was right by the main path (but far enough away from the dust) and handier for the showers/toilets. That wasn't a bad pitch to be fair. Or where those little Mazda 323 things were. Didn't see many of their club members chilling out together though to be fair. Could we try and organise a celebrity guest appearance? I hear RogerNE's available these days....
