jay200bhp
Hi guys so after asking last month if anyone had removed all evidence of the trac control gubbins from there j-spec throttle bodys. I set bout milling mine off and welding the holes over and shortening the throttle body trumpet to reduce the chance of the intercooler pipes fowling my fan kit.I milled the trac control bosses off and welded the holes up .and set about cutting down the cam part which holds the throttle cable. when all cleaned back i resuced the lengths of the round spigot and re added the 0.8mm circlip groove with a specially ground tool i ground up for the lathe. i then sent them off to be nickel silver plated.i will add photos this evening as im on my phone at the moment. - - - Updated - - - saved for photos
Grasmt
Interested to see the pics, do you think there will be any improvements on power or is it purely aesthetical?

jay200bhp
purely aestethic id say although the butterfly removal may help the airflow. i have problems with the silicone joiner creeping out under boost so i have had an adel wigginsclamp welded onto the trottle body and i.c pipe to stop this alltogether... On the photo above does yours still have the cold start piping or has that been removed too? It looks almost non toyora like a nissan t/b maybe just the photo.good work
j_jza80
I honestly don't know, it came to me like that. It was running aftermarket management too (fcon Vpro gold), so it could well be a different throttle body.
jay200bhp
it looks to be welded to the inlet thats what made me think that.it did look very tidy as an install though.
David P
The internal diameter can be bored 2mm larger and fitted with a butterfly to match, which helps a little but not a lot.
Wez
John (Dude) sorted my throttle out a fair few years back
