The Raven
My vents sit right over the air box. So if i install an after market one i will probably suck half a gallon of water into my nice rebuilt engine....this would make me cry. I am collecting random bits for to BPU my car and my side mount has seen better days. Am i right in thinking i wont be able to use a front mount as it will foul on the stock air feed? My only other option is to wait for a good 2nd hand stock side mount......i will be along wait.
Dnk
I made my own pipework which routed round the airbox, the stock system is the same but just done with a rubber pipe as shown in the first photo Edited September 4, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
Scoot
I managed to fit my stock airbox and front mount pipework in. It was a tight squeeze, and there was lots of swearing but it all fits snugly now.
Shane
How Dunk did his is nice if you intend to stay stock. Just one thing though, as good is the stock airbox is meant to to be, if you go FMIC its pointless keeping the stock airbox imo if you intend to then fit a plate (seen them called slam panel plate/FMIC plate etc) because by doing so you block off all the channelled fresh air to the top scoop. I have seen quite a few cars which are running the stock airbox and a pretty plate too. Essentially in doing so the only air that can enter the airbox then is from the intake under the headlight. The Raven
I have no interest in making under the bonnet look nice. At least i know it can be done as detailed above. Thanks Chaps
Nic
It depends on the FMIC kit, my HKS Type R fitted with the stock airbox in place without any modification.
