Mk4Gaz
Nope I gain nothing from this other than being dragged into an argument where I simply stated dont drive it is the simplest solution. This seems to have gone slightly off topic  I think in this case, we should listen to the expert, rather than make assumptions. Op, I think you'll be fine, Benjy thinks 'knows' so too. But I guess the answer is, if you're happy to drive without the headlight fitted, do it!
Al Massey
Well with the amount of idiotic drivers who drive a car with a headlight bulb blown, and drivers with just fogs on at night and get away with it, I'm pretty sure it's fine
a98pmalcolm
Sorry to make a topic that has caused a little up raw... So we feel that Using my car at 8 in the morning to drive 4 miles to work and to park in a residential area and then come 6 in the evening to drive back home. All day light is ok.. Reason I asked is I see alot of members modify there headlight to make an air induction hole.. In some cases I have seen members have a fibreglass insert so there driing about minus 1 headlight all the time..
Dnk
I'd get the bus, what if it chucks it down with rain, aren't you supposed to pop your lights on then even in the daytime ?

I can get one of my boys to hook me up with one of them Malcolm if you are concerned about leaving a gaping hole it might be worth putting a wanted post up to see if anyone local to you has a headlight spare you could borrow. Saves you the hassle if you are pulled over, no headache and simple solution to the problem.

listy
Well, now the manhood measuring game seems to be done with (by which I mean, you have both given your opinion/expert advice, and IT IS DONE WITH) I would like to say, from my experience you will probably be fine. I have (on a few occasions) had my headlight vent in during day time hours, and never had a problem. I have even chatted to a police officer about said headlight vent, and the fact I made it myself (he was impressed ) and nothing was said. However..... I did have a headlight vent fitted (it is made from a headlight, it's in my project thread somewhere) not just a gaping hole. My advice is, do what you think is the right thing. If you are worried about driving it with no headlight in, then I think you have answered your own question. If you think it wil be fine, then do it. Most of us only do that during daytime hours, and if I think there is a risk of it getting dark, I have the headlight in the Supra with me, so I can fit it if needed. Gaz6002
There are laws against having sharp edges on the front of cars too. This is why you have to tape up a broken light or window before driving.

For the sake of your engine bay, I'd cover it up. Even if it's with a bin bag and masking tape.
