mac79
I was coming down the motorway this afternoon and the car started coughing and spluttering and died. I manged to get it restarted and drove fine. I came to use it again and started running rough and cutting out then will run and then the revs are up and down and it feels like its not getting enough fuel. Managed to get it to tick over with it missing quite a bit, if you rev it a bit of black smoke come out but not constantly and its smells really rich. Boost gauge is reading ok and it had a new fuel pump fitted 2 weeks ago. Has anybody got any ideas.
absz
As a guess faulty crank sensor if its back-firing aswell, or possible wrong fuel?
mac79
I always used v power. I had just come back from derby on the same fuel with no bother. I have just tried it again and i can only just use a bit of throttle and gently it keeps running but get on it quick it hesitates when I drove it round the blocķ. Just heard a bit of a "knocking" and the turbo seems louder And the idle is reading on the boost gauge higher than normal and it up and down by 200rpm ish. gdog1989
I had a issue with the sender unit on my fuel pump after I changed it, mine cut out due to no fuel but was reading half full, when we took it back out it was floating in the tank swapped sender unit over all good, hope you solve your issue. mac79
It was the fcd as chris wilson said. I need to buy a new one. I am going to get a hks but I remember something about when used with an auto it needs to be a particular one or something needs to be done when wired in. Anybody know anything about this? Chris Wilson
I know some people say the clamping method used by HKS is not ideal, and I agree, but there seems a gap in the marketplace for a reasonably priced alternative, since Thor and Greddy stopped making them. Assuming the damned thing works at all i have had no issues with HKS ones on manual and auto Supra TT's of all ages.
