royh
Will they fit on a j-spec and will i have to change bulb holders on my j-spec please
j_jza80
They should be a direct swap on a pre facelift.

SPG
Are the bulbs not slightly different?
j_jza80
Are the bulbs not slightly different? That's why I said "should". It's been done plenty of times, so it must be straight forward.
Scott
IIRC you can put UKs straight onto a Jspec. Going the other way can be a little more tricky.
Graham1984
I have a Jspec with uk glass, you need Hb4 9006 bulbs and the usual Hb3 9005 for dipped and main (can't remember what one for what). Normally Jspecs have Hb3 9005 for both. I have Hids and it's been fine for me.

Chris Bailey
Thread hi jack, Are facelift headlights a straight swap into a pre facelift?
j_jza80
Thread hi jack, Are facelift headlights a straight swap into a pre facelift? No. Pre facelift sidelights are in the headlight, facelift sidelights are in the indicators. I think the wiring needs extending, but it should be well documented on here. Chris Bailey
No. Whats needed?
Tommyd16
As long as you have something like face light indicators as facelift headlights don't have sidelights in then
Scott
Jspecs are both Hb3 9005 for dipped and main, Uk glass has one that is Hb4 9006. I understand that, but they fit and seal just fine. I've never swapped over to 9006 and I've never had an issue

I've never swapped over to 9006 and I've never had an issue I never knew that, I just went on what the bulb spec thread said and went with that. If it works like that then that's ideal as you already have everything you need OP.

Benjy
I had to buy new bulbs going from UK to Facelifts...
Nic
I understand that, but they fit and seal just fine. I've never swapped over to 9006 and I've never had an issue The j-spec bulbs will fit in the UK headlights but the holes for the low beam bulbs in the headlights are a wider diameter on the UK headlights, they probably will be okay but if there are any problems with condensation that may be reason. Nic
Thread hi jack, Are facelift headlights a straight swap into a pre facelift? The facelift headlights are a straight swap on a pre-facelift Supra - fitment and bulbs are the same - however as said you'll also need to fit facelift indicators/sidelights which aren't a straight swap as the wiring harnesses needs some modifying, see here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?31633-How-To-Fit-facelift-front-indicators Edited August 28, 2014 by Nic (see edit history)
