Well, the mapping hasn't gone ahead :(

For whatever reason, they didn't try to get the car running until yesterday, and then they found it wouldn't start. They couldn't even get it driving until today, at which point they've decided to put the mapping off until Monday.

I'm pretty annoyed actually.

Sorry to hear what's happen mate, not good! Did they say what the reason was for the car not starting?

Apparently there was an issue with the base map, which I know is just one of those things. Leaving it until the day before mapping before trying to start the car is a little harder to understand.

I think an issue with a basemap is concerning. It's not like you've done something out of the ordinary. Injectors are known and to be honest, if you know the fuelling you can get it started? Very odd.

Well actually it is slightly different this one, this is the first car we or anyone's done(as far as I know) with the S6Plus ecu, VVTi, tiptronic and full drive by wire throttle so its not exactly straight forward like the normal Syvecs installs, there isn't a wiring diagram or "off the shelf map" for it put it that way.

Sorry Jason, we were waiting for a wiring diagram from Syvecs, I had one sent to me weeks ago but it was wrong when Darren went to use it. Same with the map, I got that from Syvecs weeks ago ready but again it was wrong. So we had to wait for a new map and wiring info from them and unfortunately these things take time. Its running now though and all set for mapping on Monday.

Thanks :)

Romain has said that in addition to the regular dyno printout for torque / hp, he'll get me a boostplot.

But I can't stress enough that numbers weren't the driving force behind this build. The ethos has always been for a well built, reliable, responsive, every day street car, and by that measure it should be awesome

I love the approach you have taken to this build. Not a traditional supra build of "I want XXXBHP"

Lovely car and a refreshing take on a supra. Look forward to seeing the results.

The direction of the build has been decided by considering what I actually use the car for, and in that context, build on the best aspects of each of my previous Supras.

The only other major change I'll consider now will be either a Whifbitz or SRD gearbox swap. Not that there's anything wrong with the tiptronic / Paddleshift system I have, it's just a modern gearbox would better exploit the available power :)
