j_jza80
Not yet, but it's a pretty basic font from the factory. I'll print off a few samples and compare them to what's in the car
j_jza80
It doesn't state what the warning needs to look like, so the one for the fronts should suffice. I don't think there's a separate indicator for the front fogs?
Benjy
I don't think there's a separate indicator for the front fogs? Hmm... I'm not actually sure to be honest! I see so many different cars every day, I lose track. Even a single LED in the drivers view would do. But the brake light warning light isn't a bad shout
supra_ufo
changing the heater control buttons were one of the best things i did, make a massive difference loving the updates will you be out tomorrow in it?

jonc
Hi Jay, I have not been around here for a while as I fell out of love with the Sup:taped: but after a few runs recently I am beginning to get the love back. Just read through your thread to catch up on progress and I am V impressed:cool: My Mercedes gear change paddles are still working well and one of the best mods I have done to the car and I was interested to read your comments about yours compared to the GTR. Keep up the good work mate

j_jza80
The parts gathering stage for the turbo conversion is going well As I'm aiming for 600hp MAX, the stock inlet manifold and fuel rail are absolutely fine. But the stock plenum is a little ugly, so I've had one modified I had the seams and casting marks removed, the flange profiled, then had it powdercoated in satin black, along with the runners and Whifbitz DBW adapter. A big improvement on stock I think. The marks on the runner are tape residue. It was modified by CSK fabrication near York Edited November 19, 2015 by j_jza80 (see edit history)

j_jza80
Not updated for a few weeks, but things are progressing well Due to the recent black Friday sales, I took the plunge and ordered all of the parts for the single conversion. As per my initial spec, I've gone for a Syvecs S6 plus, with the full suite of sensors. I've also ended up ordering a Toucan display too, as I figured it would be invaluable for trouble shooting down the line, and adds a lot of useful functions. I just need to find a way of integrating it into my dash so.it looks oem, so far I think the OEM clock location will be the best position. I've also ordered a Whifbitz transmission cooler kit, a rebuild kit for the diff, a Whifbitz stage 1 oil catch tank, and loads of other associated bits. Now that all the parts are sorted, the car is booked in with Whifbitz at Enfield for the full single install on the 12th Jan. Paul has already sent me the oil catch tank, as I wanted it powdercoating prior to installation. I went with a crackle black finish to hide the welds, and It looks great I also got them to do a few other bits, including the HKS 4" intake in gloss black And a spare oem fuel rail in satin black, ready for my dropin injectors They also did some assorted brackets etc, some of which are for the custom bonnet strut set I've had made. Big thanks to Matt_RR for his help sizing the pistons. And I had my fabricator make me some brackets which are much more sturdy and oem looking than any of the off the shelf kits. The struts are also much more substantial than most. A big thanks to all the forum members who have helped sourcing all these parts and helping me spec them etc, the cars really starting to come together now. Got a few smaller updates too over the next couple of days, but roll on January!!! Pudsey
Looking forward to this. Best wishes for the build, I am sure it will all come together nicely. Fingers crossed we get plenty of pictures, updates as the work takes place.
j_jza80
Thanks mate I'll try as make sure Paul gets Darren to get some progress pics. I'm sure.my car is in the best hands with Whifbitz and Romain (Syvecs), but no doubt the mapping day will be gut wrenching
Andrew K
Like what you've done with the stock plenum and also all the other bits, will be looking forward to the updates and pictures once the works underway best of luck with the build mate and hope all goes well. Thanks mate It took a lot of work to get the brackets right, but if there was enough interest for a group buy he would definitely do more. j_jza80
Well, if you're really that interested, and you okay it with a mod, I could sort you a set out. I'd reckon you'll be looking at about £100 all in, with the brackets powdercoated etc.

j_jza80
If the engine/turbo setup is the heart of the car, this is definitely the head In addition to the Syvecs, I've gone with the following sensors / add ons. Boost solenoid Oil pressure Fuel pressure Map sensor Lambda sensor Knock sensor The Toucan display also arrived, and it's very different to what I was expecting. They look bulky and plasticy in the pictures I've seen. I'm please to report that in the flesh they are pretty compact, and a well built, weighty unit. I'm planning to mount it in place of the stock clock.
j_jza80
As per my earlier mockup picture, I have finally received my custom cal switch facia. I'm really impressed with how it's turned out, looks almost oem. It will illuminate with the rest of the dash too. Also, I discovered that with a bit of fettling, the OEM climate knobs will fit the Syvecs cal switches, which is what you can see above. ripped_fear
That looks brilliant, maybe worth getting them to make up some dials for the oem ac unit so they are all identical. Although they look very close anyway.
j_jza80
Thanks I know what you mean, but i think that would lead my down the expensive path of getting all the other climate panels, and the active spoiler, heated seat and the mystery switch all done too It won't look exactly like stock, but it will look infinitely nicer than the cheap stickers Syvecs provide Edited December 16, 2015 by j_jza80 (see edit history)
