Guest 1aristo
Guys, I have codes P1121 and P1120 coming up on my 2jz gte vvti and I have confirmed I need the Accelerator Position Sensor (22060-46020). The problem is I cant source it in the US at all! However I am getting the 2jz ge vvti which looks the same but carries a different part number (22060-46010). Does anyone know if these sensors are interchangeable so I could use one of these instead,or otherwise lead me to getting the original part number listed above? This it the sensor the throttle cable attaches to.
Chris Wilson
Can't see why any US Toyota dealer can't order this, but have you checked it's not a connector or wiring fault first? I could order it here in the UK and send it over, butwould want full payment and shipping costs up front and something for my time. Accelerator pedal position sensor is mounted on the throttle body and it has the 2 sensors to detects the accelerator position and a malfunction of the accelerator position’s own. The accelerator pedal position sensor is connected with the accelerator pedal by the accelerator wire and the voltage applied to the terminals VPA and VPA2 of the Engine Control Moduel (ECM) changes between 0 V and 5 V in proportion to the opening angle of the accelerator pedal. The ECM judges the current opening angle of the accelerator pedal from these signals input from terminals VPA and VPA2 and the ECM controls the throttle motor based on these signals. If the the P1120 code is stored, the ECM shuts down the power for the throttle motor and the magnetic clutch, and the throttle valve is fully closed by the return spring. However, the opening angle of the throttle valve can be controlled by the accelerator pedal through the throttle cable
Guest 1aristo
Yes, I have since got a known working sensor borrowed and all good. Its a known problem with all those older style drive by wire setups, so I was able to pin point it right away. I am waiting on a quote directly from Japan, and most likely will get it from there, but thanks for the offer.
