mellonman
Just looking to get a spare for mine as its only a matter of time but was wondering if the box was fitted to any other cars? Being that we all might be able to get a lets say less abused box second hand Anyone know of any?

j_jza80
There always seems to be plenty of TT autoboxes kicking around cheap. But failing that, the cars I would probably look at: - Aristo TT - 1JZ engined Soarers - 1JZ engined Chasers
LOGIE
Im pretty sure there was a volvo with the A340e box.

David P
I think you'll find that the strongest variant, the T.T. trans might only turn up again in an Aristo?
j_jza80
What gearbox does the SC430 use?
David P
What gearbox does the SC430 use? A more expensive one than one from a T.T.?

mellonman
Im breaking a Mk1 TT Aristo. Just saying. Intresting , how many miles the box got on it and is it the same as the TT , a little confused now lol
Delboy52
The SC430 uses either the A650 5 speed auto or the A761 6 speed auto. I should say that although the A650 box will mount onto a Supra chassis, the gear lever mechanism in the cabin is huge and sits about an inch higher, fouls with the handbrake lever, and wants to rest somewhere forward inside the centre console. I have that gearbox spare now.. Also your title has the A340e NA box, not the A343e TT box. The Soarer V8 uses an A341e 4 speed auto. You might find the A343e in the 2wd Hilux. Source is from AU so not sure if that model was available in the UK. http://www.vehiclemods.net.au/hilux-gearboxes
garethr
The Supra TT box (and, presumably, the Aristo box) is stronger than the other A340s, so the answer is "the Aristo TT, perhaps". I've seen a pic somewhere of the TT box clutchpacks compared with the N/A box clutchpacks - Supraforums, perhaps?
Swampy442
Intresting , how many miles the box got on it and is it the same as the TT , a little confused now lol 130k which is a mix of KMs and miles, in truth I don't know lol. And yes, its the same. Ive fitted Jamesy's old Boostlogic auto to the Do Luck and al that needed was the output flange swapping.
