Clutch questions - Help appreciated!

Hey guys,

I know i mentioned my lame clutch control in an earlier post today, but just had a few questions regarding clutchs.

My Supra is an NA, engine swapped to a TT with W58 gearbox, Stage 3 clutch and LSD.

Just wanted to firstly confirm the clutch slipping I caused earlier today was normal?

I was on an incline and pulled the clutch up half way and applied some revs. This caused the clutch to emit a friction sound, a slight rubbing metal noise, until I completely lifted up the clutch, at which point I stalled. I assumed this was me not bringing up the clutch quick enough and applying enough revs? I was preety hesitant and slow lol. (New car and clutch to me)

This happened a couple of times attempting to get up the incline lol. Supra drives fine and all seems well on the journey home.

Secondly, has anyone had any expereince with the spec stage 3 + clutches as I may look into them if they are smoother for daily driving? Mines a bit more setup for drifitng atm, well it certainly feels that way.

Also I have been told it may be worth getting hold of another W58 gearbox, anyone know where I can get one?

Any help with these questions as always is appreciated ;)

Regards

Ash

What clutch is it?

And I dont recommend using w58 on turbo cars.. They are a ticking time bomb, it will break, only a matter of time.

Lucky for you, I have an R154 setup forsale, much stronger box. I'd be willing to do a px deal against your w58 stuff if you are interested.(Before or after it breaks.. Obviously worth more if not before it breaks)

I believe it may be a spec stage 3 clutch. But cant be sure.

It does the usual judder sometimes when taking off from a stop. A few others on here have the same thing happen.

Just really wanted to confirm that it was normal for the clutch to slip and make a slight rubbing noise on the incline I was on when I only partially lifted up the clutch pedal and revved the engine a bit?

I was told the noise was to do with the clutch pressure plate and me not lifting the clutch to biting point when revving. Its always nice to get some other opionions ;)

Any ideas?
