2JZ GTE Auto, what controls the line pressure in the trans?

Hi,

I'm hearing and reading conflicting arguments on this, in a GE auto box with a throttle cable, obviously the cable controls the line pressure directly but in the GTE box with the line pressure controlled electronically I'm wondering if anyone knows exactly where it gets its signal information from.

Some people and places say its just throttle position but others have said its calculated based on engine load using the MAP signal etc.

My query is, if it is using engine load and I use a piggy back controller to fiddle the MAP signal, I'm telling the ECU that the boost pressure is lower than what it actually is there for giving me less line pressure there for giving me a greater possibility of me cooking my clutch packs in the box.

can anyone shed any light on this?

thanks,
